This morning I woke up and sat down with my magnificent and delicious morning coffee and logged onto my personal Facebook page. The following is a post I saw first thing, from my friend Collette:
“A very dear friend has taught me to come from a place of love, with a open heart, to smile and be happy, to be positive …and I thank that friend for showing me the way to a good life. I am trying to live my life that way and it is working out good for me and for all the people around me. Thank you Sandy…. You have given me something that I can never repay to you..hugs and love to you.”
Shall I just say that I was so humbled by such kind words. My breath caught as I read it and I felt my heart swell. But that’s not why I am sharing this. Certainly, it’s not to boast…if you know me you’d know I can be my worse critic.
What this is about is to show you an example of the power of love. This is what I wrote back to Collette:
“Wow, what a way to wake up in the morning to this message. I will tuck those kind words in the back of my heart and pull them up when I need a lift. I am so proud of you, my friend. How you have changed and continue to change inspires me to keep doing what I am doing. Your support of my new venture has validated to me that my life’s path is heading in the right direction. You see, I have helped you but in my helping you, YOU have helped ME. Isn’t that ironic how living from a place of love works? Hugs and mountains of love to you, Sandy.”
Isn’t it ironic how the power of love works? You give and you get in return. Remember that.
Here’s how to open your heart every day to share love to others: Stop whatever you are doing and breathe. In and out. Now, imagine your heart has a door in front of it. Imagine yourself opening that door and letting the golden light of love pour out. Breath. Don’t be scared. Doing this won’t make you vulnerable, it can only help you. You will be amazed. Then imagine that golden light of love spreading out all around you sharing the power of love everywhere you go. Practice often every day. Two minutes, every day.
With love,
