In Buddhism we are taught to be mindful, to listen in the moment to ourselves, the physical world and those people that are all around us. It’s something that I think is good practice for everyone, whether you are Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, whatever.

It’s a practice, this listening, this mindfulness. It’s not something we learn and move on knowing, it’s something we must continue to practice. Because in life this mindfulness is something that’s easy to forget when times get challenging or life sweeps us away.

So often when I can’t see a resolve in something or I am not sure what to do I get caught up in trying to fix whatever it is. For example, when I was trying to find a location to do my energy work and guided meditations I was having a rough go of it. I inquired about numerous locations and nothing panned out. Rent was so expensive and I fretted, how will I ever grow this business. All I want to do is help people but how can I do that? I have to make a living. I can’t put us in major debt. And on and on it went…you get the idea.

After a week of this mind racing I was driving down the road towards home and was thinking about finding a place yet again and I said to myself, stop! Then I took a deep breath and let that breath go. Then I said to myself, let it go, Sandy. Trust that the universe will take you where you need to go.

Then I let go.

And the next day I happened to be texting back and forth with Dr. Danny of ADIO Chiropractic Clinic about having a guided meditation at his office and texted, kind of as an after thought, “would you happened to know of a place I can rent to do my energy healing?” And within a matter of minutes we had worked out a deal where I would pay a reasonable rent to use his place as I needed.

Amazing how it all works. Lesson: when our mind races with worry, turn inward and become mindful. Stop, let go, listen for the answer and remain aware when it comes your way.
