Creating A Sacred Space
Dear Friends,
I hope you are having a peaceful Friday thus far. As I was sitting preparing for my morning meditation I thought about my meditation space, thus my e-mail to you now.
Creating a sacred space for meditation I believe is vital for all of us that wish to continue on our spiritual, emotional and physical growth. As you likely heard me say maybe even many times…meditation is essential for us to incorporate into our daily life. Daily meditation helps us to reduce stress, gain clarity, lower blood pressure, among many other things that benefit our well-being.
Meditation doesn’t have to be in a “quiet spot” all the time. As a matter of fact my most favorite place to meditate is on walks and among nature. Some people choose to do yoga, which also includes meditation. With practice and consistency we should be able to meditate anywhere…in our car, waiting for an appointment, during commercials around a movie or television show, wherever. But one thing I think is equally as important and that is to have a space in your home where you can meditate in privacy and quiet.
Attached you will find two photos of my meditation space. It’s in the corner of my bedroom. It takes up just enough space for a comfy chair, a small dresser and a small table. It’s by windows covered by “curtains”…sheets made into curtains with clips and rings. Every single thing in that space comes from a thrift store (except the “curtains” and the clips for them, that were $7.00 each, and that same fabric also covers the thrift store chair). I love buying things used. It’s a challenge to find something that you can customize to suit your own purpose, it saves loads of money and its great recycling, which helps the Earth. I also am very mindful of the “energy” of each used piece I buy. I make sure that it has positive and peaceful energy.
So…if you don’t have a sacred space in your house consider designing one. Put in it a comfy chair, fabrics that bring you peace and joy, books that inspire you, candles, soft music or a sound machine and a warm blanket or throw. Make sure to tell your family that this space is yours and for you only. Ask them kindly to respect that space because by you having the ability to enjoy it you will be happier thus a better wife, husband, mother, father, etc…
If you create a sacred space or have one and would like to share photos and a description with everyone feel free! I’ll add it to my web site and Facebook page. (Or if you just want to share with me that’s great too!)
On a different note, I have a special going on now for my in-office energy healing and distance healing. October and November is $55.00 for a one-hour, in-office healing or four for $175.00. My office is in Libertyville. Distance healing is $25.00 for 30 minutes or $80.00 for four sessions. If you are interested feel free to contact me.
May this day bring you peace, love and clarity,
