This saying was also good for me today too. Last Tuesday I had put my dog to sleep. While she was old and I knew our time was limited, it happened suddenly. I believe in one way it was a blessing in disguise but in another way I am left feeling shocked and numb. I have had many, many dogs in my life. Bear, a German shepherd mix, I adopted just short of three-years-ago, when she was eleven-years-old was maybe my once-in-a-lifetime dog. She and I bonded like lost soul mates. It was the first time I had a dog like that. She was my Lassie, my Old Yeller, my Toto, my Marley.

So I have been struggling to deal with my grief. I am in the process of writing about Bear in a story that I will share soon. She was a very special dog…and not just to me. She was our number one canine volunteer for my humane society, Animal Education and Rescue. Many people miss her and share in my sadness.

This morning I was driving another dog that I am fostering to the groomer. Alone in the car I took some deep breaths and called to the universe, my spirit guides and angels to give me clarity and love. I then went through positive affirmations out loud:

“I am joyful, I am happy, I am healthy, I am strong, I have clarity, I see miracles, I am loved.”

Every day positive affirmations should be part of our lives. I have them all over my house posted everywhere…I think it’s time to switch them out with new ones and new places. I will also add some to my car.

This Saturday night there is only a few spots left to come to The Power of Love inspirational speech. If you are interested sign up soon:)

Have a wonderful day!
